Atlanta Burning: The Clock Is Ticking On Falcons’ Mike Smith
Falcons' fans have complained about Mike Smith's clock management for some time, but I've never really paid attention until now. Here's how they lost today's game to the Browns.
Down 23-21 with the ball on the Cleveland 35 with 55 seconds remaining, facing 3rd-and-2, Smith decided to ... call time out? Yes he did. Instead of running time down to :10 or whatever, the Falcons tried a long pass play -- incomplete. Then Matt Bryant kicked a field goal to put them ahead, 24-23, with 44 seconds left.
And that was enough time for Brian Hoyer to drive for a game-winning field goal for the Browns.
Falcons fans went nuclear.

Is this the end of Mike Smith in Atlanta? Possibly, if this is any indication:

Atlanta fans have generally liked Smith as a human. But as a tactical coach? This was the final straw.
Here's a gem from #Falcons coach Mike Smith: "The score was not what we wanted it to be."

The Clermont calls for Mike Smith's termination. Surely other ATL strip clubs assembling a joint statement http://t.co/wJv05CuBa1
