Ben Affleck Goes Apeshit About DeflateGate On Bill Simmons’ New Show
Bill Simmons has officially returned to television, this time armed to the teeth with fucks and shits and A-list celebrities who are willing -- nay, eager -- to string together fucks and shits when talking about yesteryear's biggest sports controversies. As you might expect, fellow Boston-native Ben Affleck was tapped to headline "Any Given Wednesday" on its maiden voyage upon the sea of hot takes. And as you might have guessed, they went after the NFL for throwing the book at Tom Brady for his role in the presumably intentional under-inflation of footballs.
"Eli Manning," Affleck started out. " The New York Times did a cute spread two years ago about [air quotes with fingers] 'What goes into an Eli football"...the whole thing was about how he's gotta fucking scuff it like Phil Necro before he'll even put it in a game, and nobody thought to think there was anything wrong with that."
"Goodell thought it was charming," he added, insinuating that Eli Manning somehow got away with modifying footballs in a legal manner. "And now they're saying taking footballs from a warm place to a cold place, finding out there might be a whisper less air pressure in those balls...it's bullshit."
Whoa, Batman mad. Batman want accountability in professional football!
"This is a conspiracy of people working inside the NFL, who all come from organizations that Tom Brady whipped their ass."
Amazing how quickly Simmons' new show turned into a Boston sports-version of the Glenn Beck program. Hey Ben, why don't you go ahead and put some respect on Eli Manning's name, k? There's no need to bring him into the DeflateGate soap opera on a show that airs past his bedtime. What if he saw you saying all those swear words? He'd have nightmares for a month. C'mon.

PS - Bill did an excellent job at the top of the show recapping LeBron's historic season.
