Ben McAdoo Had A Brilliant Response To Chris Christie’s Comments About His Hair
Every team has its share of celebrity fans. For example, everyone know that Jack Nicholson is a Lakers fan, while everyone is aware that Bill Murray's baseball preferences go to the defending champion Chicago Cubs (man, it still feels weird to say that!).
Not too many teams have a governor from a completely different state rooting for their team, but the Dallas Cowboys are not most teams. Enter superfan Chris Christie, governor of New Jersey...home of one of the Cowboys' biggest rivals, the New York Giants.
Appearing on WFAN's Boomer and Carton radio show, Christie, apparently still stewing over the Cowboys' 10-7 loss to the Giants, who have dealt Dallas both of their losses this season, Christie went into an assault on, of all things, McAdoo's hair style, asking "Do you think Ben McAdoo will actually get a real haircut if they make the playoffs?". Christie doubled down on his comments, calling McAdoo's facial hair "cheesy".
In McAdoo's weekly meet-up with the New York media, he was asked about the comments. With the Giants prepping to take on the NFC North-leading Lions in a crucial matchup for determining the NFC playoff picture, McAdoo deflected the question much like his star defender Landon Collins has deflected passes this season....
"Again, (Lions QB) Matt Stafford does a nice job and he's someone that we really need to pay attention to, especially late in the ball game. He could get hot on us."
The topic was brought up again, with someone asking if the Detroit signal-caller was McAdoo's "stylist", McAdoo again resorted to Sunday's event, leaving no chance it could be spun into another Christie related question...
"They’re playing well on defense. They can get after the quarterback."
Kickoff for Sunday's game is scheduled for 1:00 PM EST.
