Breaking: Darren McFadden
Gosh, wasn't that fun last year. Every fantasy football player drafted Joseph Randle and then watched as Randle was arrested repeatedly and then pretty much stunk. And then from the depths of injury hell returned Darren McFadden to fantasy relevance. Despite getting older and always being brittle, McFadden played a full season for Dallas and was very successful. For the first time in five years, McFadden rushed for over a thousand yards, while playing in 16 games for the second consecutive year. It honestly didn't feel real.
It must not have felt real for the Cowboys either, as they spent their fourth overall pick on his replacement, Ezekiel Elliot. After the draft, McFadden said all the right things. He's ready to compete with Elliot, to teach him, and to work together with him to win a championship. Well it's currently June 14th and we feel like we can officially call this competition over.
Cowboys running back Darren McFadden will miss "a couple months" after undergoing surgery on a broken elbow... https://t.co/ukeBYi4qRh

There's the Darren McFadden we know and love. Breaking his elbow on Memorial Day weekend and now is going to miss a "couple months". We are confident in predicting that a couple of months will more than likely turn into "a full season". Despite McFadden being back at practice already, there's no way Ezekiel Elliot won't take the job and run with it (pun intended).
But hey, think about the good news. You won't be tempted to take Darren McFadden at the end of your fantasy football draft anymore!
According to USA Today, Cowboys running backs coach Gary Brown clarified at Tuesday's minicamp that McFadden tried to catch his falling cell phone while at home and "cracked his elbow instead of the phone." That's right folks, he broke his elbow trying to save his phone. Let's hope that the phone's okay at the very least, because he's going to have a lot of free time for Candy Crush over the next couple of months.
