Brett Favre Calls Tom Brady ‘The Best’ While Congratulating Him On 201st Win
December 4 / Tanya Ray Fox / SportsGrid
Tom Brady secured his 201st career win on Sunday afternoon with the Patriots' rout of the Rams. He has now surpassed Peyton Manning as the winningest quarterback of all-time, and it is a major milestone in his quest to secure his status as the undisputed GOAT.
Brett Favre is someone who knows what it feels like to break records - a lot of records - and also watch his own records get broken. He once held the record for most wins all-time, but he's never backed away from congratulating his successors. That's why it was no surprise when he put out a Sqor video to address his feelings on Brady's latest accomplishment.
Despite the fact that the video looks like the grainy footage of a hostage requesting ransom for his release, it's actually a pretty nice message.
Now maybe it's just me, but that little phrase "You're the best" seems incredibly loaded. As Brady closes in on some seriously impressive and historic career marks, the phrase "the best of all time" is being used more and more.
Could it be that this was Favre's way of slyly chiming in?
Sure, it's possible that he was saying it in the congenial, passing way that many of us do when we want to display affection, but I just don't by that explanation. Favre definitely would've known that using the words "the best" would insinuate a larger meaning.
This is the closes thing we have to confirming that Favre is Team Brady in the GOAT discussion, for whatever that's worth.
