Cardinals Defeat Weeden-Led Cowboys 28-17 … But What If Johnny Manziel Had Been Drafted By Dallas?
One reason that the Cardinals pretty much dominated today: Brandon Weeden, The Ginger Tornado. Tony Romo and his twice-busted back were inoperative for the Cowboys, so Weeden was your backup, and he was who we thought he was. Arizona won, 28-17.
Weeden's numbers: 18-of-33, 183 yards, 1 TD, 2 interceptions.
The bigger question, why are the Cardinals so good? Projected to be no higher than third place in the NFC West this season (my prediction included), they're about to be 7-1 -- one of those wins over the 49ers. They're leading the division, two games (as of this writing) ahead of Seattle. What the fungus?
Think about this: If things had gone the way that many fans expected in the draft, it would be Johnny Manziel directing the Cowboys' offense today. Would it have made a difference?
UPDATE: Cardinals on The Cowboys 6.
UPDATE: Grice 1-yard TD, Arizona leads 28-10.
UPDATE: It's 28-17 following Weeden's 3-yard TD pass to Dez Bryant. There's 1:08 remaining in the game.
UPDATE: That's a final. 28-17.
