CBS Cut To Commercials In The Middle Of A Play During Chargers-Broncos Game
Poor San Diego Chargers -- they get no respect. The team that still may end up in Los Angeles was sent to commercial limbo when CBS inadvertently flipped a switch in the middle of a play during Thursday Night Football.
Phillip Rivers was calling signals against the Broncos in the late stages of the third quarter when all of a sudden a promo for Matt LeBlanc's news series Man With A Plan appeared on the screen. Heh, ironic.

WHAT THE HELL CBS/NFL NETWORK

The ratings for the game weren't terrific, at least by TNF standards -- Broncos-Chargers averaged a 9.9 overnight rating according to CBS/NFL Net, down 5 percent from the Falcons-Saints game last year. Still, it won primetime in that slot.
And the Chargers beat the Broncos, 21-13. The play everyone missed was an incomplete pass by Rivers, which was nullified on a penalty by the Broncos, giving San Diego a first down. So it wasn't exactly the Heidi Game -- but to stats-crazy Fantasy Football fans, and to the Chargers/Broncos faithful, it must have been quite annoying.
And, they're dragging out Matt LeBlanc for another series?
