Cedric Benson Becomes Third Bengal To Be Arrested This Week
Last Saturday, Pacman Jones was arrested for disorderly conduct and resisting arrest a bar. On Thursday, his Cincinnati Bengals teammate, Marvin White was arrested for being verbally abusive to the management at his child's daycare center. Yesterday, Cedric Benson became the third Bengal to be arrested, when he was charged with assault on a family member.
This marks the fourth time that Benson has been arrested since he entered the NFL in 2005. In 2008 he was arrested for operating a boat while intoxicated and for resisting arrest. Later that year, he was arrested for driving while intoxicated. Last year, Benson was arrested for allegedly punching a bartender in the face.
It still remains to be seen whether players who break the law will be punished by the NFL once the lockout comes to an end, and although there's not much the Bengals can do right now to prevent their players from getting in trouble, having three players arrested in one week isn't doing much to help the Bengals reputation as the worst franchise is sports.
