Chad Henne Is A Delicate Flower
One of the worst kinds of admissions a professional athlete can make is to say that they're affected by fans' heckling.
Which is exactly what Chad Henne did.
"You want the respect of your fans. You want them to have your back. When you are a Miami Dolphins fan hopefully you are cheering for the Miami Dolphins. But obviously if I'm doing bad they will critique me."
Reacting to the fans' derision, coach Tony Sparano said Wednesday via the South Florida Sun-Sentinel that the chants made him "sick." He went on to say he didn't expect the situation to unnerve his quarterback, though, stating “I’m not worried about how it affects anybody. We’re all big boys here, OK."
Hmm, maybe not everyone.
Part of you has to admire Henne's candor, while the other part is undoubtedly left pondering the obligatory "What-the-hell-was-he-thinking" question.
If anything, those chants are about to get even louder.
