If you recall, when the Bengals were first considering Owens as an option back in March, Ochocinco tried to recruit Owens by creating this dynamic on twitter, saying:
@terrellowens man it dont take that damn long to sign on the dotted line, lets go damit!!! You can be Batman i will be Robin, lets go!!
Well, last night, Ochocinco indicated that Batman and Robin will finally be teaming up and, moreover, assuming that the Joker is an overarching metaphor for opposing secondaries, alluded to the overwhelming dominance that the duo will have:
@terrellowens Batman, dont go in that cave, the Joker is in there, watch it!!!!!!! POW CRUNCH SMASH BOOM, see you in a few days boss!
Simply unstoppable (much like Eli Manning's citizen eco-drive watch.)
If Ochocinco is truly accurate in his claim that he will see Owens in a few days--and, given that he is the lead reporter for OCNN, he is technically a news authority--consider us excited. It isn't every day, after all, that the hosts of two VH1 reality series ("Ochocinco: The Ultimate Catch" and "The T.O. Show") get to pair up.
And, moreover, from a strictly football perspective, it will be interesting to see how TO performs in a favorable offensive situation.
Taking the metaphor a little further, however, there will remain one question: How will Commissioner Gordon (Goodell) feel about Batman and Robin?
Our guess is that, just like in the comic, Goodell will find himself extremely appreciative of vigilante justice (the NFL will find itself with an extremely marketable situation in Cincinnati).
Despite the headaches that the duo is bound to cause.
