Chris Long’s Julian Edelman Mask Is Equal Parts Creepy & Hilarious
At this point you've undoubtedly been inundated with tweets, Instagram posts and slideshows of celebrities and athletes dressed up for Halloween. That's why I'd feel remiss if I let you finish your Tuesday without seeing perhaps the uncanniest impersonation by anyone in the NFL.
No, that's not Julian Edelman. But it is Chris Long in an almost-too-convincing Julian Edelman mask.
The Patriots defensive end spoke to the media in the locker room on Tuesday while wearing his teammate's face. And he didn't just stop there. He did the full on "Jules" impression that had even the wide receiver himself cracking up.
Here's another take on Edelman's bro persona, featuring the his signature finger guns to the sky:
So it appears by the lighthearted nature of the media scrum that the Patriots are not feeding into the melodrama over Coach Belichick's surprising trade of linebacker Jamie Collins to the Browns on Monday. Call it "business as usual" or "Do Your Job" or whatever saying they have about wearing your friend's face for Halloween.
Side note: I don't know what the deal is with these masks, but the Patriots as a team seem particularly taken with them. Fortunately, while no mask of a real human face is ever not creepy, the Edelman one is definitely less unsettling than that over-sized Tom Brady face that Welker sported to Gillette Stadium in September.
That thing gives me the willies.
OMG there's a Rob Ninkovich one and Rob Ninkovich is terrified of it.
