Ciara Thinks Future Is Going To Try To Murder Russell Wilson
When Russell Wilson entered the NFL he was just a good, young, married, Christian dude who scrapped his way to the top of the NFL with the power of prayer and fortitude. Just a few years later, he is divorced and engaged to a former pop star whose rapper ex is publicly threatening to kill him. It almost makes you wonder if that "ultimate good guy" image was all for show!
::please read entire first paragraph with as much sarcasm as possible::
Wilson's fiance, Ciara, has ushered him into a whole new world of tabloid drama since they got together early in 2015; the latest of which is spurred on by details in court files that were part of her defamation suit against the father of her child, rapper Future.
The future Mrs. Wilson filed the suit in February, claiming damages from his public accusations that she uses her child and her relationship with Wilson for publicity stunts. She cited several interviews that Future had given, as well as things he had put out on social media.
Now it's been revealed that she actually fears for Wilson's life. Or at least that's the story she's telling.
Contentious relationships between exes, especially ones that involved custody battles, tend to really ramp up the melodrama. According to TMZ, Ciara recently filed legal documents in relation to the suit in which lays out various threats that Future has made. She references a post that the rapper made a while back in which there were two football emojis with guns pointed in their direction, and she also references a song that he dropped last month in which he raps, "Tryna f*** my baby mama, dog what's up with you? You gon' make me get that heat, I'm pulling up on you."
Ciara says that she believes that the threats are real, and is quoted as calling them "frightening" and "socially irresponsible ... where there has been a recent rash of gun violence."
Now to be fair, hypothetical acts of violence being described in rap songs is anything but new. If Future finds his ex's relationship with Wilson to be insufferable, it would probably be better for him not to rap about shooting him, but it's a far cry from being a serious threat; at least in it's isolated form. Of course, when combined with the tweet and other comments it certainly can be perceived as concerning.
Unfortunately, Ciara making these claims in court documents while she's trying to sue the guy for millions kind of throws her credibility into question. If you fear for your fiance's life, or feel as though physical threats against him should be taken seriously, there are far more appropriate avenues for that information than a defamation suit. How about calling the police and filing a complaint? Or perhaps seeking out out a restraining order?
Obviously we hope for Russell and his family's sake that all of this drama is a part of lawsuit gamesmanship, and that they don't truly fear for his life. And if they do, they really need someone to help them navigate the court system a bit more effectively.
