CLUE: It Was Odell Beckham Jr, In The End Zone, With One Hand
Giants wide receiver and overall athletic freak Odell Beckham Jr. makes one-handed catches. It's just what he does. If there is a catchable ball thrown anywhere within a five-yard radius of his body, he will lay out and he will catch that goddamned thing; and he will do it with one hand if that's what it takes.
It's hard to tell at this point whether a Beckham Jr. one-handed touchdown reeception is astonishing or just par for the course. You see it, you hear the announcers call it and you watch the replay from all the angles and part of your brain is telling you "of course he did that" and then the other part of your brain is telling you "there's no way he just friggen did that again."
And yet, he did. Here he is in the waning minutes of the Giants' game in Washington, inexplicably hauling in the touchdown catch to make it a one-possession game and keep his team's hopes alive.
How is that possible? It's not even just the one-handed part that's impressive. He was completely horizontal just a few feet above the ground and was able to not only bring the ball into his chest and get his hands underneath it, but to maintain possession without any way to brace himself on the way back down. That is unbelievably difficult.
Despite ODB's 9 receptions for 142 yards and that wizardry performed in the end zone, the Giants went on to lose the game 20-14 and are now 0.5 games back from Washington in the NFC East.
