Confusing Report: Aaron Hernandez Cheated On His Fiancée With Woman ‘Prior To And During’ His Trial

Aaron Hernandez is currently serving a life sentence without the possibility of parole for the murder of Odin Lloyd, which means that basically nothing he does or ever did is all that important anymore. We should probably lock up and throw away the key of all our collective memories of him -- he isn't worth the brain space. That all being said, a super confusing report about a "tipster" who Hernandez was perhaps banging "during" his murder trial is so weird, we have to pass it along for weirdness' sake.
According to a court filing, prosecutors in the Hernandez case responded to claims by Hernandez's defense team that an "anonymous" caller had tipped them off to the possibility that a juror had lied about her knowledge of Hernandez's involvement in his second murder case. Dishonesty on the part of the juror could have led to another trial for Hernandez. However, in their response, prosecutors say this tipster was nothing more than a Hernandez side piece who wanted to get her man another chance at freedom so she could continue, potentially, banging him.
There were many holes in the tipster's story. "Katy," as she is dubbed, made statements to the defense counsel that were simply not true -- and the prosecution appeared to discover why she would lie very quickly. From the filing:
"'Katy' does not in fact work with the juror as she previously claimed in her statements to defense counsel... Furthermore, the Commonwealth has also learned that 'Katy' hasn't simply been in personal contact with the defendant. She had an ongoing sexually explicit relationship with the defendant prior to and during the trial."
"This relationship includes letters ‘Katy’ sent to the defendant that were subsequently destroyed by the defendant... In addition to the ongoing relationship between ‘Katy’ and the defendant, the defendant had a relationship with ‘Katy’s’ father while there were inmates together at the Dartmouth House of Corrections.”
So let's get this straight. While Aaron Hernandez was on trial for the murder of his fiancee's sister's boyfriend -- a trial that hinged on the testimony of his fiancee, a woman he was ostensibly committed to and in love with and in need of -- he was having an affair with a woman who was willing to lie to the authorities for him in the hopes of being with him in the future.
How did Hernandez engage in a "sexually explicit relationship" with this person while in custody? Did he just exchange letters with her? Did he actually, ya know, bone her? The filing doesn't say, so the only thing we know for sure is that some people are just absolutely bat shit crazy. Like, have a sexual relationship with a serial killer and lie for him kind of crazy. Like, be a serial killer and have a sexual relationship with some chick while you're on trial kind of crazy. Like, continue to wear a gold wedding band and engagement ring on your hand even though your fiance has gone away for life kind of crazy. Really crazy.
Also the "relationship with [her] father" thing is weird too.
