Dash Cam Video Surfaces Of Johnny Manziel’s Run-In With Police
No charges were filed last Monday after police questioned Johnny Manziel and his girlfriend, Colleen Crowley, who a witnessed had seen speeding down a country road with "a female passenger trying to open the door." According to the responding officer, Manziel didn't appear intoxicated, despite admitting to have been drinking earlier in the day. The dash cam video seems to corroborate this. Great. Nothing to see here people.
(There's totally something to see here people.)
Watching the scene unfold contributes to the narrative that Manziel's life is in utter disarray, which only adds to the growing consensus that the Browns should part ways with their 2014 first-round pick. As he explains to the officer how his girlfriend "threw her phone out the window" and that he "tried to grab her arm," it becomes clear that Manziel hasn't yet figured out how to manage the distractions off the field that would otherwise keep him from focusing solely on his career's rapidly closing window.
[Fox 8] The report says the couple argued, and Crowley threw Manziel’s wallet out the window and that is why he pulled over. It also says Crowley told police Manziel pushed her head into the car glass and hit her a few times.
She was asked if she thought Johnny could cause her physical harm of if she was afraid of him and she responded with, “No, he was fine.”
Police did find a small cut on Crowley’s arm, which they say was from Manziel trying hold her in the car.
The report says Manziel had two drinks earlier in the day but did not appear to be intoxicated. It also said Crowley did appear to be intoxicated. They asked if Crowley wanted to be taken home, and she said no and left the scene with Manziel.
