VIDEO: Dez Bryant Socked In Face During Out Of Control Cowboys-Rams Brawl
In case you didn't already know, the Cowboys can't get out of their own way; even when they are just supposed to be having a friendly practice session with the Rams.
Since the new thing to do now during joint practices is to end up in a brawl every single freaking time, it should come as no surprise that the NFC rivals came to fisticuffs. And that's putting it mildly. According to Brandon George of the Dallas Morning News, the fight may have begun on the play just before the pandemonium broke out, when Rams defensive end Randy Gregory was knocked to the ground twice without a helmet.
Here's one angle of one part of the colossal free-for-all that erupted between the two teams.
The cheap shots got out of control, and the brawl ended up getting a little too close for comfort to the fans watching up against the side. At some point during all of this, Cowboys star wide receiver Dez Bryant took a pretty brutal punch to the face from Rams defensive back Imoan Claiborne.
That's definitely one of the hardest hits that Dez will take all season. Needless to say, he wasn't happy about it. Here's a screen shot of a tweet that he has since deleted.
Okay, Dez. Whatever you say. According to multiple sources he was taken off the field after the injury. In fact, coaches Jeff Fisher and Jason Garrett called the entire rest of the joint practice because neither of them could get their teams under control.
You've got to love when grown millionaires can't get their shit together long enough to practice. It makes you wonder if that would ever happen at a Bill Belichick and Tom Coughlin practice.
There was one happy ending to the day though. After getting a huge bite of Claiborne's knuckle sandwich, Bryant lost one of his diamond earrings. The stud was inexplicably located by the ground crew and presumably reunited with its owner.
Aw. #Blessed. No but seriously, why the hell do these guys wear 2-carat diamonds in their ears while they play football? I get that everyone likes feeling fancy, but perhaps there are some events you don't need to be frosted up for.
