Eli Manning Explains Is ‘Manning Face’ From Super Bowl, And It Actually Makes Sense
Eli Manning explained his deer-in-the-headlights expression on Sunday when Denver scored the clinching touchdown in the Super Bowl, and after all the mockery and meme-i-ness, you have to give him this one. It makes sense.
"I was focused on whether they were going for two [points]. The defense had to step up, an extra stop."
And Peyton agrees. He said that Eli was studying the game, and thinking ahead to the two-point conversion. Other Mannings can celebrate, but the quarterback in the group has to be thinking ahead. CBS Sports:
"Eli’s just like me," Peyton said. "He is analyzing the game. He’s thinking about whether we were going to go for two. Whether it was going to be reviewed.
"He wasn’t gonna to relax until that final second ticked off. I’ve had a great chance to celebrate with Eli. He’s very happy and proud of me just like I’ve always been of him."
Of course the internet mocked, as the internet is wont to do. The main theme was that Eli was unhappy that his brother equaled his total of Super Bowl rings (2 each).
