Team Maaaarv, coached by Chris Meaney, made it three wins in a row with a 135.94 to 126.74 win over Mike Cardano’s Beat Engel team in Week 10. Ironically, Maaaarv could have scored even higher had he played Jameis Winston over Carson Palmer. Maaaarv is now in second place with a record of 8-2 and he has a shot at winning the whole thing. With David Johnson and Dez Bryant as two of his top players, there is a very good chance he can run the table the rest of the way in the Joes Be Pros league.
A look ahead in Maaaarv’s schedule reveals that he has matchups with Gregg’s Super Team, Joe Buck Lite and FerdinandoD’s team. Right now, none of these teams are better than 5-5. Couple that with Maaarv being a lock for the playoffs and things are looking good for Meaney’s squad.
I asked Chris Meaney for his thoughts on running the table and whether there was a particular week in the schedule that worried him.
He replied, “There’s a great chance I run the table for the rest of the regular season if one of Kenneth Dixon or Dion Lewis can step up and be my RB2, as I’m lacking a second running back after David Johnson. Maybe Christine Michael can step up in a new role with the Green Bay Packers.
If not, I could be a in tight Week 12 against Joe Buck Lite, as it looks like C.J. Prosise will have a strong finish. That week should be the difference in myself winning the regular season or Team A.”
RECAPPING THE REST OF THE LEAGUE
Kai Forbath Fanclub had the second-highest point total of the week in his 148.02 to 138.28 victory over Gregg’s Super Team. KFF’s manager, Scott Engel, benefited from the strong return of Ben Roethlisberger and another big game from Julio Jones. KFF is still in third place following the win, while Gregg’s Super Team dropped to sixth with the loss.
Joe Buck Lite made a great call adding C.J. Prosise to their squad, as he helped coach Mike Blewitt to a 145.84 win over Hi There’s 111.14. The win moves Joe Buck Lite to fifth place overall, while Tony Cincotta’s Hi There fell to ninth place with their third consecutive loss.
FerdinandoD’s team took another loss this week, falling to Team A, 142.48. The loss sealed Nando DiFino’s fate as one of the teams guaranteed to miss the playoffs.
In a battle between the two Joes, Luke’s Team crushed The Better Cardano 162.30 to 139.04. The win pulled Luke Benigno’s squad up to 5-5 and a slot in seventh place, while Mike Cardano Jr. fell to eighth place with the loss.
George Kurtz had the “gimme” win this week against the lost Liberty City Wrath squad 137.22 to 110.80. The win helped Team Kurtz move up to fifth place overall. Liberty City is a lost cause.
