Five Minutes Of Stephen A. Smith Gloating On ‘First Take’
The New York Giants' win over the Dallas Cowboys Sunday evening was hardly a sign that Tom Coughlin's squad has their shit together. Half of their points were scored on defense/special teams plays, their pass rush is still the worst in football (they have nine sacks on the season), while the waiver wire tandem of Matt Cassel and Darren McFadden kept a depleted Cowboys team in a game that shouldn't even have been close. The Giants were lucky, so it's hard to pretend like this was a moral victory.
As far as watching the serendipitous misfortune of an imploding division rival is concerned, however, this game was a case study in football schadenfreude. Giants fans -- most notably Stephen A. Smith -- are peering over the ledge of their perch atop the NFC East to laugh at the misery of Cowboy fans.
"Skip, it is beautiful to see you," Smith said through a smile so massive it probably made his face hurt. "How's everything going, bro?"
