TV Reporter’s Locker Room Harassment Allegations Now A Major Media Story
September 13 / Dan Fogarty / SportsGrid
This is not good news for the New York Jets. The Ines Sainz harassment allegations, in addition to being covered on SportsCenter this morning, is now getting airtime on Fox News. Bruce Speight, Jets PR man: it's time to earn your paycheck.
This whole kerfuffle began on Saturday, when Sainz, a reporter for Mexican station Azteca TV, visited Jets practice to interview quarterback Mark Sanchez. But the visit was less than comfortable: coaches intentionally threw footballs in her direction as she waited on the sidelines in an effort to make players bump into her.
Things only got worse as she entered the locker room. Kevin Armstrong, a reporter for the New York Daily News, explains in the clip below how "hooting," "hollering," and catcalls were thrown in Sainz's direction. Perhaps the creepiest part is his description of lineman Kris Jenkins, who was "noticeably eyeing her and making comments to her from across the room." Yikes.
