Game Off: CBS Anchors Try To Talk Patriots-Broncos, Get Everything Wrong
Every TV anchor has had their own 'boom goes the dynamite' moment in their career; a situation in which they are asked to recap something they know absolutely nothing about and are inevitably and embarrassingly exposed in the process.
Well these two had their shining moment this morning during a local CBS broadast in which they tried their very best to recap the regular season meeting between the Broncos and the Patriots, presumably as a set up to their coverage of the AFC Championship game. The video is only 14 seconds long, but they crammed an impressive amount of misinformation into the broadcast in that short amount of time.
Take a listen to this mess:
No, the Patriots did not win that regular season game, and no, the quarterback that played in that game was not Dan Orlovsky. The Patriots lost that game to the Broncos, who were quarterbacked by Brock Osweiler.
That guy didn't even try. He just thought of a backup QB with a name that begins with an "O" and just ran with it. Forget the fact that Osweiler started seven games and played in eight for the Broncos this year as the most high-profile backup in the NFL since taking over for Peyton Manning. How about the fact that Orlovsky hasn't started an NFL game since 2011?
I have the sinking feeling that this guy only knows Tom Brady as the guy in UGG ads.
