It’s no secret that athletes often have to endure serious diet restrictions in order to get their bodies into the peak physical condition that’s necessary for them to earn their paychecks. Coaches have been mandating that their players make weight and maintain a healthy lifestyle for as long as professional sports have been around, so when Jets wide receiver Brandon Marshall revealed on Twitter that his head coach had asked him to get himself below 230 lbs, that wasn’t the weird part.
The weird part was the meal that he put together to begin that diet. Check it out:

Grouper and blueberries, people.
GROUPER. And. BLUEBERRIES. That might be the saddest, funniest, cutest first attempt at a diet meal that I have ever laid eyes on. It’s not that it’s particularly gross, because plain white fish and plain blueberries don’t clash per se. You definitely don’t see them paired together very often though, and certainly not like that; just limp fish and loose blueberries on a plate. Nothing to tie them together.
It’s just a sad, weird meal. Now Brandon Marshall has always been a monstrously large wide receiver at 6’4″, and when he was at the peak physical shape that he mentioned in the video, he was about 228 or 229 lbs. That means that Todd Bowles would like for him to lose about 5 to 6 lbs. in order to lean up for the season. I think we can all agree that if Marshall sticks to the “grouper and blueberries” diet, he’ll be there in no time.
But one big question still remains. Is Brandon Marshall’s weird meal the weirdest meal on the internet? I did an extremely short investigation and in short, hell no. People are the grossest. We know this. So to help make Marshall feel better, here are a few of the most bizarre #weirdmeals that I could uncover on social media.
