Herm Edwards: Boycotting Draft Is Like Taking Kids To Disneyland And Saying They Can’t “Ride The Rides”
Brad Cohen 04:31 pm, March 15th, 2011
As NFL players and owners struggle in their labor negotiations, the "NFLPA" (or what's left of it) "recommended" that some of the top NFL draft prospects boycott the draft. ESPN analyst Herm Edwards discussed the situation this afternoon, and taught us two things:
1. The former coach and player wasn't too fond of the NFLPA's suggestion.
2. He seems to really, really like Disneyland.
The analyst made an animated analogy comparing not being able to attend the draft to going to the theme park, but not being able to go on the attractions. In the end, Edwards made it pretty clear how he feels: Get a deal done and let the kids ride the rides.
