Hey Jets Fans, Rex Ryan Said He’s Open To Coming Back
Imagine this scenario, Jets fans. Rex Ryan is back as your head coach. And Colin Kaepernick is your starting quarterback. How you feelin' about life now?
Oh, OK. Well there's no need to swear.
While there's certainly nothing in the works so far, Ryan told the New York Daily News on Monday that he's not opposed to returning to the Jets, where he coached for six seasons before being fired and moving on to the Bills.
"I'm definitely never going to say never on that one," Ryan told the Daily News in a wide-ranging interview on Monday night, his first since getting fired by the Bills before the season finale more than a month ago. "I love New York. I do. I love the people. I got a ton of friends — lifelong friends-in that organization. I'll never say never. I don't know in what capacity, but I'll leave that open for sure."
My opinion? No way in hell that ever happens. The Jets would consider that taking a step backward, and that's the last thing they need. But ... these are the Jets, so who knows?
Meanwhile, Kaepernick is a good bet to be traded by the 49ers this offseason (he's in the final year of his contract and the team doesn't want to pay him $16.9 million if they can help it), if some team wants him. The Jets are rumored to be interested. Jets Wire:
With the Jets hiring former Saints wide receivers coach John Morton as their new offensive coordinator, Kaepernick now has ties to the quarterback-needy Jets.
Morton was the wide receivers coach with the 49ers from 2011-2014, which were coincidentally Kaepernick’s best years as a starting quarterback.
https://t.co/2h1iiExqNL - Jets, you bring in that QB and I'm telling you... There will be chaos in Jet land.

So would that put Jimmy Garoppolo in play for the 49ers?
