Holy Shit, The ‘Madden NFL ’15’ Simulation Of Super Bowl XLIX Was Eerily Accurate
February 2 / Eric Goldschein / SportsGrid
This is just weird. Every year, EA Sports releases a "Madden" simulation of the Super Bowl, and every year no one cares because that's a video game and it has no bearing on real life (despite its 8-3 record). Well, consider us thoroughly impressed, because "Madden '15" pretty much called EVERYTHING from tonight's thrilling game.
In this year's simulation, the Seahawks led 24-14 in the third quarter following a Marshawn Lynch touchdown run, but the Patriots dug deep and came storming back to win 28-24.
Computer Tom Brady threw for all four of the Patriots touchdowns in the simulation and was awarded his third Super Bowl MVP award.
And guess what happened: The Patriots won 28-24 after being down 24-14 in the third quarter (Lynch's TD came earlier, however), thanks to four Tom Brady touchdown passes -- including what appears to be the game-winner to Julian Edelman (see below). Brady went on to win his third Super Bowl MVP.
Here's the prediction trailer:
All hail the great wizards at EA Sports, I guess.
