Houston Police Say Tom Brady’s Stolen Jersey Is Worth Half A Million Dollars
It's been more than two weeks since Super Bowl LI and the New England Patriots win over the Falcons, but that also means it's been more than two weeks since star QB Tom Brady's number 12 jersey has gone missing. The jersey has been suspected to be stolen, and the Houston police aren't messing around when it comes to finding the thief. They have announced this to be a first-degree crime, and have listed the jersey to be worth $500,000. Unfortunately, this number doesn't mean anything to Brady. He wore the jersey to set the record with his 5th Super Bowl win, so this jersey is invaluable to the quarterback.

After the theft, Brady told the media "I put it in my bag and then came out and it wasn’t there anymore, so it’s unfortunate because that’s a nice piece of memorabilia. So if it shows up on eBay somewhere, someone let me know, try to track that down." Josh Evans, the founder of auction website Lelands.com, says before the theft the jersey would have gone for about $250,000. After the theft, he believes it could go for almost 1 million, even though it's a modern jersey. He explains that for it to sell for this much, the thief would have to sell it relatively quickly, since the hype about the crime and jersey will decrease as years go on.
We'll have to stay tuned to find out if this half a million dollar jersey thief decides to profit off his treasure.
