In Aftermath Of Nnamdi Signing, NY Daily News Reacts With Classic Headline, Philadelphia Inquirer Doesn’t Know How To React
The New York Daily News is drawing ire for its questionable choice of headline on today's back page recounting coveted free agent Nnamdi Asomugha's surprising signing with the Philadelphia Eagles. The All-Pro cornerback threw so-called NFL insiders for a loop when he chose the Birds over the Jets, Cowboys and every other team rumored to have an interest. And similar to when LeBron James infamously spurned the bright lights of New York for the more natural light of Miami, the Daily News did not take kindly to the news. Case in point:
Meanwhile, The Philadelphia Inquirer elected to commemorate this unprecedented day in Philadelphia sports signings (the Phillies also landed prized Houston Astros outfielder Hunter Pence) by giving front-page honors to ... the debt ceiling?!
Well, it's good to know journalistic integrity still prevails in some places.
And of course, leave it to the Phillies' official website to snatch up the obligatory "Pence-sylvania" headline.
