Is This The End For The New Orleans Saints? (Update: Maybe Not)
Well, Travaris Cadet just caught a 5-yard TD pass from Drew Brees to bring the Saints within 24-20 of the Buccaneers late in the third quarter. But the previous score was a lot more noteworthy. Tampa Bay's Danny Lansanah had a pick-six against Brees, running it back 33 yards to make it 24-13.
A more Do'h!-worthy interception you will not likely see in the NFL. And when Brees got back to the sideline, Sean Payton walked away from him.
New Orleans is in danger of dropping to 1-4 in the NFC South, which would be last place. Do we then write them off? Losing at home to the Buccaneers pretty much says it all to me. But we've got a quarter to go.
