Jackie MacMullen Rips Dallas Cowboys A New One Over Greg Hardy Support
Isn't if funny how with the proper perspective the NFL's vendetta against Tom Brady looks even more stupid and childish? Don't some deflated footballs look a lot less jarring than the photos shown by Deadspin today, which show the awful injuries inflicted by Hardy on his ex-girlfriend Nicole Holder?
Kind of makes you wonder what the hell the Cowboys are thinking. While some in the sports media are holding back -- a few of those even defending Hardy outright (we're looking at you, BBQ teriyaki brain on a stick Stephen A. Smith), Jackie MacMullen was having none of that today on Around the Horn.

And, you know what? Shame on us. Because why do we need to see these photos of Hardy's viction in order to get all worked up about it? What did we expect her to look like? "Oh hon, looks like you've got a bit of a shiner there." "Oh it's nothing, just bumped my head getting out of the car."
That, plus her testimony that she thought that was the moment she was going to die. What did we expect her to be thinking? But we now live in a world where unless there are photos are cell phone video or police dashcam footage, it didn't actually happen.
NFL confirms to HuffPost that both the league and NFLPA saw the Hardy photos. NFLPA still worked to reduce suspension from 10 to 4

Here's SI.com's Doug Farrar, also blasting the Cowboys and the NFL:
"The NFL, the NFLPA and the Dallas Cowboys have excused Greg Hardy's mindset. ... Jerry Jones' own daughter excused what Greg Hardy did to Nicole Holder. When you get the full picture, it's hard to believe that Nicole Holder wasn't in fear of her life. ... Roger Goodell needs to get out in front of this and say "We screwed this up big time." Because Roger Goodell saw these photos. Jerry Jones saw these photos. The NFL needs to be proactive. They need to do something real. And it needs to happen now."
I'm all for Greg Hardy never spending another minute on an NFL football field. Or as a free man.
