Jeb Bush Says He Was Rooting For The Broncos ‘Because Peyton Manning Wrote Me A Check.’ Please Clap
I'm not sure how far that Jeb Bush thinks he's going to get in South Carolina admitting that he was rooting for the Broncos in the Super Bowl, but it might help him in Colorado, Indiana and Tennessee -- if he gets that far.
Why was Bush a Broncos fan on Sunday? Because, he says, "Peyton Manning wrote me a check." This says so much. Politicians don't even hide their base natural instincts these days, even with something as insignificant as this. Yeah, I'm easily bought. Please clap.
The first thing President Bernie Sanders is going to do when he becomes president is to get the NFL out of politics.
Don't forget that Washington owner Daniel Snyder also wrote Bush a check, for $100,000. Bush has said repeatedly that he doesn't find their nickname offensive, so there always seems to be a quid pro quo in his dealings with NFL personalities.
That Manning is an unabashed conservative should surprise no one -- after all, his first move after the Super Bowl was to kiss Papa John, and you can't get any more Republican than that. So, could Peyton have a future in politics? Jeb called him "The adult in the room," which is actually a good campaign slogan in the Republican primary, and he should use it more. But what would a Peyton presidential run be like?
Probably moving steadily with several wins in the flyover states, only to choke in the end. Unless Von Miller is his running mate.
