John Harbaugh Says He’s ‘Going Trump’, Supports A Border Wall
Because there's no bigger issue for an NFL coach based in Maryland, John Harbaugh spent a far hunk of time during a press conference on Saturday saying that Donald Trump has some good ideas about illegal immigration.
Harbaugh is in favor of a border wall between the U.S. and Mexico, and in fact says "it's not that hard" to build one. How did this subject even come up? Through the back door, if you'll pardon the choice of words.
Harbaugh was talking about NFL refs, saying that the league should allow them more practice time in the preseason to get ready for real games. But because the refs and the NFL can't seem to get together on the issue, nothing has been done. And that's, you know, the problem with our government as well. Baltimore Sun:
“Both sides want it, so maybe they ought to start talking to one another — maybe like our government, too,” Harbaugh said.
“I’m going Trump here,” Harbaugh said. “Build the wall. It’s not that hard. If you don’t have a border, you don’t have a country. You’re not a country without a border, right? At the same time, you’ve got 12 to 15 million hard-working people here. Give them a shot. Give them a chance, right? To become a citizen, so they’re paying taxes. I mean, all of us know that it’s not that complicated, but this side doesn’t want to solve it, neither does this side. Neither one of them wants to solve the problem. Solve the problem.”
Harbaugh may not know it, but most immigrants do pay taxes here -- even the illegal ones. And his plan differs from Trump's in that Trump wants to deport all illegal immigrants and start over.
Anyway, yeah, the hat is in the mail, and John Harbaugh is now eligible for one free helicopter ride.
