Le’Veon Bell Roasts LaVar Ball For His Delusional Michael Jordan Comments
As we gear up for the March Madness tournament to begin in earnest on Thursday, many eyes are on UCLA's Lonzo Ball. The freshman guard is the Division I assists leader (7.7) and could raise his 2017 NBA draft stock with his performance in the postseason.
However it's his stage dad that's been hogging the spotlight as of recently. As the father of three basketball stars - Lonzo's younger brothers LiAngelo and LaMelo are studs for Chino Hills High School - LaVar Ball has developed some delusions of grandeur, so to speak.
In a recent interview with USA Today's Josh Peter, the brash father of the boys at the heart of the controversial Big Baller Brand claimed that back in his "heyday," he'd have killed Michael Jordan playing one-on-one.
"I would just back (Jordan) in and lift him off the ground and call a foul every time he fouls me when I do a jump hook to the right or the left," Ball said. "He cannot stop me one-on-one. He better make every shot ’cause he can't go around me. He's not fast enough. And he can only make so many shots outside before I make every bucket under the rim."
Seriously, what the hell is this guy talking about? Does he think Jordan managed to play his entire career never running up on a guy bigger than 6'6"? A countrywide vote would produce probably ten names total of players who they believe could've beaten Michael Jordan one-on-one in his prime, and I'm 176% sure that mediocre college player LaVar Ball is not on the list.
Steelers running back Le'Veon Bell wholeheartedly agrees.
Ouch. That would probably sting if it weren't for the fact that at least one if not all of his kids are going to end up in the NBA. Then Papa Ball's getting a new house, some new cars and a very nice boost in those BBB sales.
