Lions Fans Buy Seven Billboards Roasting Monday Night Refs
No, Detroit isn't quite over this thing.
Of course you know the story: Lions get screwed on crucial play during Monday Night Football, lose fumble in end zone with less than two minutes remaining while trailing by 3, even though the ball was illegally batted, and should have been awarded to Detroit at the 1.
Result: Lions now 0-4.
The refs are being vivisected everywhere, as well they should be -- a sweaty-palmed carnival barker like Pete Carroll has no business receiving this much luck. NFL V.P. of officiating Dean Blandino has already said the call was wrong, and the Seahawks' K.J. Wright, who batted the ball, admitted he did so intentionally.
But at this point, Lions' fans aren't interested in moral victories or pointless apologies. So a group has purchased seven billboards, seen above, and scattered them around the Detroit metro area. Heh.
But this would have been money much better spent if the billboards were in New York City, where the NFL offices are located. Or find out where back judge Greg Wilson lives and put a few of them in that town.
