Swear To God: Tim Tebow DENIES He’s Speaking At Republican Convention
In his own words, Tim Tebow just got back from the Philippines and "woke up this morning to discover that I'm speaking at the Republican Convention." In the Instagram message below, Tebow denies the entire thing, calling the report nothing but a rumor.
The New York Times reported that Tebow was on a roster of scheduled speakers at the convention, citing "two people close to the campaign" as sources. The Times also said it had obtained a copy of that roster. CNN reported that Tebow had "landed a high-profile speaking gig" at the convention, but didn't cite a source.
Tebow completed his message with a call for American unity, and there of course were several shout-outs to God, his main homey. But the big news is no Tebow in Cleveland, as has been widely reported all day. WTF, Donald Trump? You may think that you're in a giant game of Pokemon GO, but you have to collect speakers in real life.
If Tebow's name is indeed on some speaker roster, it wouldn't surprise anyone. Trump did the same thing with Mike Tyson and Mike Ditka -- announced that they were going to speak on his behalf at the convention, only to have them deny the entire thing. Tyson said that no one even contacted him. Ditka said he turned down Trump himself.
Ofcourse if Hillary Clinton did this, cries of "Hillary lies!" would ring out throughout the land. But Trump talking absolute BS? Well, we'll see.
