Mark Davis Wants To Keep Raiders, And His Hair, In Oakland
You've heard the rumors: Oakland Raiders headed back to Los Angeles. Or, Sacramento. Or San Jose. San Antonio. Crawford, Texas? No, scratch that.
In an interview today with Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, owner Mark Davis says that he is devoting "99 percent" of his energy to keeping the Raiders in Oakland. (The other one percent is dedicated to hair maintenance).
“We are trying everything possible to get something done in Oakland right on the same exact site we’re on right now,” Davis said. “And I’d say 99 percent of my interests and energy are going towards getting something done there. That’s really the crux of it right now. People want to know about the other sites and there are always options. But we want to get something done in Oakland.”
Of course a new stadium is the big issue. Davis said that he would not ask for a publicly financed stadium, but pay for half himself and rely on land developers to pick up the slack.
The Raiders are 0-10. So let's get this done!
