Mark Schlereth Recalls The Time He Broke Shannon Sharpe’s Orbital Socket
Man, don't you just hate it when one of your co-workers accidentally puts their hand through the bone around your eyeball? Ugh -- so annoying, right? It's like, hey man, we all need to use the copier so just relax and stop violently flailing your fists. That's not going to make it go any faster.
Thanks to Thursday's "First Take," we now know that former offensive lineman Mark Schlereth did this to former tight end Shannon Sharpe when the two played on the Denver Broncos in 1995.
"The play was called 16 power," Sharpe said. "Me and the tackle were double-teaming the end. someone came around, his fist went through my facemask."
"He broke my orbital socket," he added.
Sharpe now has two titanium plates in his face.
