Matt Flynn Released By Jets, Promptly Orders Some Breakfast Vodka
NFL quarterback Matt Flynn, best known for being the former backup to Aaron Rodgers, is officially unemployed and hitting the sauce.
Almost a month after being released by the Patriots to make room for Ryan Lindley (who has since been released as well) and just a few weeks since signing a one-year deal with the Jets, Flynn fell victim to the wave of NFL roster cuts on Saturday afternoon. And like any self-respecting American who has recently been fired, he immediately started drinking.
That's what up! My man with the early morning bloody Mary at 8:38 AM sharp.
In all likelihood, Flynn will end up on another NFL roster. There are too many teams whose quarterback situation is tenuous at best and where depth is an issue. Shit, if the Arizona Cardinals season goes anything like it did last year, Matt Flynn could be starting for them by Week 10.
In the mean time though, if you see him around town, buy the dude a breakfast cocktail. No QB deserves to endure the humiliation of not being good enough for the Jets.
