Michael Bennett Trolls Golden Tate And NFL Hotel Accommodations
Seattle Seahawks defensive end and noted eccentric Michael Bennett is in an excellent mood these days, and for good reason. On Dec. 30th the 31-year-old signed a three-year contract extension worth $31.5 million, with a reported $17.5 million in guarantees. That's a decent chunk of change for a player his age.
Not only that but his Seahawks are headed back to the playoffs with a home game in the wild card round against the struggling Detroit Lions. So there's a lot for Bennett to feel good about this week, which is probably why he was a little slap happy during Tuesday's media availability.
Bennett and his younger brother Martellus, the starting tight end for the New England Patriots, are known for their wacky albeit endearing comments about the NFL, other NFL players and even just things that they generally enjoy. So let's just say that the elder Bennett was in prime form this week.
On Detroit's breakout running back Zack Zenner:
On the "crappy" hotels they have to stay in on the road:
On former teammate and current Lions wide receiver Golden Tate:
And last but not least, Bennett addressed his new shirts that are now for sale that reference his now famous
"two pumps gets you a baby, three gets you a fine" quote, in reference to being fined for his Key & Peele homage on the field. The entire room's delight is audible.
Did you catch him clowning Goodell at the end there? He was so smooth it would've been easy to miss.
I have to admit, I am not rooting for the Seahawks in the playoffs but it's very hard not to root for the Bennett brothers. Imagine a Super Bowl media week that features not just one but both of them? Come onnnnn.
