Video: Mayor Bloomberg Informs New York Of “Credible” Terror Threat During NFL Game

During the second quarter of what's been a barn-burner of an NFL regular season opener between the Green Bay Packers and New Orleans Saints, viewers in the New York area were presented with an odd sight: football on part of the screen, and New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg informing city residents of a "credible" (though uncorroborated) terrorist threat against New York City and/or Washington, D.C.:
As you can see above, Bloomberg's address initially took up the entire screen, but was eventually relegated to the top right corner as the game was phased back in (though the audio of Bloomberg's address still took precedence). This was probably the right move - it was significant enough news that it deserved airtime, but as the threat remains uncorroborated, it wasn't exactly the type of story that you simply stop airing the football game for. It was just strange to see, that was all - and obviously, we hope this is the last we hear of the threat.
