Did Referees Call A Washington Offensive Lineman ‘Fat-Ass Garbage?’ (UPDATE: The League Is Investigating)
November 18 / Matt Rudnitsky / SportsGrid
This will be short and not sweet: Washington Potato Skins offensive lineman Trent Richardson claims that referees were calling him "fat-ass garbage" during Washington's loss to the Philadelphia Eagles yesterday. Really.
Trent Williams says refs were calling him fat a** garbage #redskins
This sounds completely ridiculous, but what are the odds that a player would lie about refs calling him names? Maybe if he said the Eagles did it, but seriously, who can even come up with something like this? I feel like he's telling the truth.
This is one of those quick stories that I want to laugh at and dismiss, but if it's true... what the fuck? I'm actually legitimately upset. If a ref is insulting a player on one team, how do you know he didn't bet on the game, or let his Eagles fandom get in the way? This is genuinely worrying. We'll keep an eye on this.
But, for now: hey, Trent Williams, you're just big-boned.
