Olivia Munn’s Text Exchange With Her Mom About Aaron Rodgers Is Pure Gold
Everyone who is capable of opening up their Instagram apps or scrolling by E! on their televisions is aware that Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers has been dating actress Olivia Munn. They Dubsmash together. They adopt puppies together. They are definitely one of America's favorite couples, and rightfully so.
Of course, that means that everyone is always ready to jump to engagement rumors they second the spot any bling anywhere near that left ring finger.
The first rumor cropped up over a year ago when Rodgers bought a beautiful vintage-style ring for Munn because she'd raved about it after getting to wear it to a premiere event.
“It’s not that kind of ring, by the way," she said in an interview with the New York Post. "It’s not the special ring. I mean, it’s a very special ring, but it is not the special ring.”
Okay, so they weren't engaged in October of 2014. But then the rumors began swirling again after OK! Magazine reported that Rodgers had recently proposed and that the pair had plans to marry in his hometown of Chico, CA. They've been together for nearly two years, would that be so crazy?
Well, kind of. It would be odd timing for Rodgers to propose while he's in the middle of the NFL playoffs. That plan doesn't exactly leave the happy couple any time for celebrating an engagement.
As it turns out, the "unnamed source" that OK! quoted was not reliable, as Munn once again denied the rumors; only this time she did so by sharing her text exchange with her mom. It turns out, Mama Munn pays a little too much attention to the rumor mill and totally believed that she was finding out about her daughter's engagement via the internet.
And may I just say, this woman is a true gem in SMS form.
Answering yes or no to personal questions can be tricky because if you say "No" it means whenever you say "No comment" that kind of becomes your default "Yes". But since I'm doing press for the next few days, I didn't want to have to answer the same question over and over. So instead, I'm going to let my text conversation with my Asian mom help me out.✌️#Colberto

Welp, that's the cutest thing ever. Munn's mom is my new favorite. "Hey why you don't tell me first?" is my new go to catchprase for everything. Always.
And for the record: if I got engaged and my mother thought she'd received the news via tabloid, our text exchange would be unfit even for the internet. Just saying.
