Our All-Time Fantasy Super Bowl Team: Best Stats At Each Position
We love Fantasy Football – even when it has been over for over a month now. So we decided to name our all-time Fantasy Super Bowl Team according to how many Fantasy Football points they scored in a given game.
Our All-Time Fantasy Super Bowl Team
Understand that we used FanDuel scoring because it’s half-PPR and that’s how I do things ‘round here.
Steve Young, QB, San Francisco vs. SD – 41.9 FanDuel pts
Six touchdown passes and he ran for 49 yards, on top of his 325 passing yards in his only Super Bowl appearance, against the Chargers. This was the highest amount of FanDuel points ever posted in a single Super Bowl game.
Terrell Davis, RB, Denver vs. GB – 34.6
His three touchdown runs were for just one-yard each, but still! He rushed for 157 yards and he caught a couple passes for eight yards, too. Davis was the No. 1 overall Fantasy pick for three consecutive years.
Timmy Smith, RB, Washington vs. DEN – 33.35
Timmayyyy! The rookie tailback blew up in this route of the Broncos and we barely heard from him ever again.
Jerry Rice, WR, San Francisco vs. SD – 34.4
On the other end of Steve Young’s passes, Rice notched 10 receptions for 149 yards and three touchdowns in the best SB effort by a WR ever.
Jerry Rice, WR, San Francisco vs. DEN – 33.15
Rice is so nice, we used him twice! He caught seven passes for 148 yards and three TDs against the Broncos.
Ricky Sanders, WR, Washington vs. DEN – 31.35
The Broncos were definitely everybody’s whipping boy in the Super Bowl during the ‘80s. Between the Broncos and the Bills, the AFC went into a deep hole in Super Bowl wins vs. the NFC.
Dan Ross, TE, Cincinnati vs. San Francisco – 27.9
Hey, catching 11 passes for 104 yards and a couple touchdowns in a Super Bowl is enough to become a household name in football circles for the rest of your life! Unless your name is Dan Ross.
Don Chandler, K, Green Bay vs. Oakland -- 16 pts
On FanDuel, field goals are worth three points, with a bonus point for a 40-yarder and another bonus point for anything 50 yards or longer. Plus, extra points are one point. Crazy.
Chicago Bears Defense vs. New England – 31 pts
You can watch “The ’85 Bears” on ESPN Thursday night, and get a much better read on how Mike Ditka’s Bears dismantled the Patriots to the tune of seven sacks, six turnovers, a safety, a pick six, and just 10 points allowed. This was three points more than any other Fantasy defense!
