In recent years, we’ve seen NFL teams move to Los Angeles, and another team is about to move to Las Vegas. Since the year 2000, one NHL team moved to Winnipeg, one MLB team moved to Washington, D.C. and three NBA teams relocated to new cities.

But in the mid-20th century, team relocation was a much more common occurrence, which meant being a sports fan was like playing the old shell game, with all that movement.
