Ray Rice Getting Serious Consideration From Injury-Depleted Buffalo Bills
Is the NFL, and society at-large, ready for Ray Rice to return? Rice missed all of last season due to an indefinite suspension by the league following the reveal of his brutal act of domestic violence against his now-wife. Rice was reinstated earlier this year, but has not found any takers for his services since his perceived value doesn't outweigh the public relations hit.
There has been enough time for teams to start mentioning Rice's name as a viable candidate to be signed in case of injury. The Browns did it recently, and the Bills -- who just lost LeSean McCoy until Week 1 at the earliest to hamstring injury -- are the latest example:
With LeSean McCoy out a few weeks, the Bills have begun internal discussions on whether to explore signing Ray Rice, sources say.

Losing McCoy is bad enough, especially since hamstring injuries are tricky to recover from. The Bills have lost running backs left and right this offseason:
Top 5 RBs on Bills' roster have all suffered injuries and undrafted rookies Bronson Hill and Ricky Seale are only healthy options left.

Since I began writing this article, the Bills have moved to fill their depth chart with options other than Rice:
Bills have signed DL Red Bryant and RB Cierre Wood. Waived TE Chris Manhertz and CB Rod Sweeting.

But Cierre Wood isn't anybody's ideal lead back. He's been a practice squad player since getting cut by the Texans for smoking weed in a hotel room. If your answer to that is, "Well, Ray Rice is also not an ideal lead back at this point," you're right. But he was once great. And he clearly wants to come back. Is Buffalo, where Rex Ryan has already signed numerous notoriously unlikable guys (such as Richie Incognito and the guy who punched out Geno Smith), where Rice gets his next chance?
There is "zero" chance #Bills will sign Ray Rice, just told by team source.
