Robert Kraft Blames Media For Making A Big Deal Out Of Pats White House Boycott
Can you remember a time when six players on a Super Bowl championship team openly refused to visit the White House for political reasons? Of course not, and that's why it's news that six New England Patriots aren't joining their teammates at the White House. But, once again, one of Donald Trump's surrogates is using the media boogeyman to explain why people don't like him.
On Monday morning, New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft was asked about how he close friend was being snubbed by the likes of Chris Long, LeGarrette Blount, Alan Branch, Dont'a Hightower, Devin McCourty and Martellus Bennett. His response was ripped straight from the Kellyanne Conway playbook: just blame the lyin' media!
"Every time we've had the privilege of going to the White House, a dozen of our players don't go," Kraft said.
"This is the first time it's gotten any media attention."
Um, maybe that's because the thought of being around this President disgusts them? How is that in any way comparable to the scheduling conflicts that prevented some players from attending the White House ceremony in the past?
Oh wait, it's not.
