Strategy for D/ST

Look for matchups vs. bad opposing QBs.

The two biggest constants you can measure for a D/ST are points allowed and sacks, with interceptions/fumble recoveries a byproduct of the pressure applied on the quarterback who is most likely to make mistakes. The opposing QB rating is the strongest indicator of this.

D/ST Projection

20 pts (4 sacks, 2 fumble recoveries, 2 interceptions, 1 TD, 13 pts or less allowed)

15-19 pts (4 sacks, 1 fumble recovery, 2 interceptions, 1 TD, 20 pts or less allowed)

10-14 pts (3 sacks, 1 fumble recovery, 1 interception, 0 TD, 20 pts or less allowed)

WEEK 7 LOCK AND LOAD LINEUP – You can play this lineup in any contest format (Head to Head, 50/50 Double Up, Tournaments)

QB 1 Robert Griffin III $143,900-Cowboys allow the most fantasy points to QB at 25

QB 2 Andrew Luck $160,900-Same as above, Chargers allow 25 fantasy points to QBs

RB 1 Arian Foster $130,500-Rams allow 25 fantasy points to RBs, Schaub won’t throw

WR 2 Vincent Brown $63,200-Value is tremendous , 9 targets last two weeks

TE Garrett Graham $69,200-Daniels out, Graham makes the most vs. pitiful Rams

DEF Houston Texans           $54,600-Houston D/ST at home vs. bad Rams offense, shutout?

FLEX 1 Willis McGahee $69,200-26 carries last week, Weeden will hand off a lot.

FLEX 2 Marcel Reece $44,600-Dependant on DMC/Jennings, but at this price worth a flier

Total Salary $999,500

**Note from Wednesday’s article, Nick Marshall is most likely not going to start for Auburn at QB, so stay away from him.  You can use Sams or Thomas in his spot (see below).

College Fantasy Football Strategy

These are some of the guidelines I use on Fantasy Feud

Starting Lineup (3 QB, 3 RB, 3 WR, TE), $1,000,000 budget

QB-$400,000 allocation

(Look for mismatches, QB’s that can get 350 yards passing or that will run for at least 100 yards)

RB-$300,000 allocation

(Look for good running backs vs. bad rushing defenses or backups getting the start due to injury/suspension)

WR-$250,000 allocation

(Look for pass happy offenses with good passing QBs against weak passing defenses and expected high scoring games of at least 60 points)

TE-$50,000 allocation

(Never spend on TE in college fantasy football because it is so inconsistent.  Look for a high scoring game with a TE in a passing offense)

WEEK 7 LOCK AND LOAD LINEUP – You can play this lineup in any contest format (Head to Head, 50/50 Double Up, Tournaments)

QB 1 Daniel Sams $112,000-Ran wild last week, and might have to again vs. Baylor

QB 2 Logan Thomas $94,300-At least 18 fantasy points the last five games

QB 3 Tajh Boyd $177,200-Offense rolled last week vs Cuse, more of the same this wk

RB 1 J.J. Green $60,000-Gets the starting nod for Georgia with Gurley questionable

RB 2 Paul Perkins $102,000-Another stud getting the start due to Jordan James injury

RB 3 Tre Mason $131,400-Cupcake game vs. Western Carolina, might only play 1st hlf

WR 1 Sammy Watkins $96,200-Pair him with Boyd this week, especially when less than 100K

WR 2 D. Green-Beckham $85,300-Shootout with Georgia, #1 recruit in the country in 2011

WR 3 Chris Conley $90,900-WR1 now with all the injuries to Georgia receivers

TE Evan Engram $48,300-A&M has given up a ton of points to TE

Total Salary $997,600

Over/Under ($1M) $2,400
