Antonio Brown injury-related recommendations
Antonio Brown's toe injury is threatening to keep him out of action for Monday night's game against the Bengals. Some well-respected Fantasy analysts are already noting the significant impact this injury could have on the most crucial week of the Fantasy regular season.
The possibility of no Antonio Brown on Monday night and the ripple in fantasy leagues is the week 13 surprise.
Here's my recommendations if you have Brown and must possibly wait until after many of the Sunday games have started for an update. If you have any of the WRs listed ahead of him in the WR ranks as an alternative, you can start them over Brown. But in most cases, this will not be an option. My strongest recommendation is to add Eli Rogers and use him if Brown does not play. As this PennLive report indicates, Rogers has played outside in Brown's place, and could also move into the slot if Brown is out while JuJu Smith-Schuster could move outside.
Of course, if you have another WR from the flex position you can move into Brown's current WR spot, then there is also the option of using a RB or TE on Monday night. If you own Joe Mixon, and have another decent RB2 option, you could hold him out until Monday and use him if Brown does not play, or lose him if he does. Giovani Bernard is a major risk of a dart throw so you may only want to go this RB route if you own Mixon. Or you could even have Jesse James or Tyler Kroft ready to pop in at flex over Brown.
Also note I have dropped Ben Roethlisberger in my ranks to reflect the possible loss of Brown this week. He's not an optimal play on the road possibly without his best playmaker.
