Skip Bayless Making Sense: The Browns Would Be Insane To Switch To Johnny Manziel
After coming in for a couple of drives late in the Browns 26-10 loss to the Bills on Sunday, many expect coach Mike Pettine to make the switch from Brian Hoyer to Johnny Manziel at quarterback. Hoyer's been struggling of late, and Manziel is an electric first-round pick with a cool nickname, so a move is imminent.
Sorry, everyone jumping on the Manziel Money train (and we see you, LeBron), but for a 7-5 team to switch to their rookie quarterback after basically one good series (and one that ended in a botched snap and touchdown for the other team) is insane. Especially for the Browns. Please keep this and the following stat in mind:
Browns have used 20 different starting QBs since team returned to CLEV in 1999, most in NFL in that time. Hoyer is only 1 w/ winning record.

Hoyer has been far from spectacular, but he's been a winner, even in a close divisional race. And no, don't make the Alex Smith-Colin Kaepernick comparison. We'll let Skip Bayless, of all people, explain why. AND KEEP IN MIND: There is literally no one in the sports media world that's been higher on Manziel than Bayless, who once wrote that Johnathan Football should be the first overall pick in last year's draft.
Like we always say: If Skip Bayless is making sense, something is fucked up. Be smart about this, Cleveland, and don't get distracted by the dollar signs and Drake.
