The Browns vs. Jets Game Is Going Exactly How You’d Expect
The Browns at Jets game wasn't exactly being billed as the marquee game of the afternoon, but perhaps it should have been. This bungling shit show may not be what most people would call "good football" but it's easily the most entertaining game on TV right now.
I love these two teams because there are always a few highlights from every game they play that you can easily play circus music over. When you get them together though, it's a treasure trove of ineptitude that must be cherished. So far they haven't even played a full half of football and look what has happened.
This is already being nicknamed "the Anti-Elway" and "The Helicopter Fumble". No matter what you call it, it's sad. Actually, it's terrifying first of all. Leave it to the Jets to employ unnecessarily roughness to send a guy spinning midair into the end zone and knock him out of the game. All joking aside, hopefully Josh McCown is okay.
That's also impressively bad, though. Here it is in slow motion with a pretty classic burn from @SportsComedy_.
So of course that meant the introduction of JOHNNY FOOTBALL into the game! That's right, less than one half of regular season football and the Browns have already had to turn to this guy:
There's no way things get better from here.
And yet, on the other side of the ball is Ryan Fitzpatrick. He could conceivably screw things up enough to the leave the Browns some hope, right?
Oh my God Browns, you are making this too easy for them at this point. The Jets current strategy is just smacking the crap out of you until you drop the ball and give it back to them. That's not an offensive approach that should work.
So far it's hard to tell if the Browns are being more Browns or the Jets are being more Jets. It's all just a jumbled mess that has somehow ended up with a score of 10-7. But there is still a full second half that is yet to be played and far more ways to embarrass and disrespect the sport of football, so stay tuned.
UPDATE: The Jets destroyed the Browns by outscoring them 17-0 in the second half for a final score of 31-10. I'd feel worse for Cleveland fans if they didn't have Ohio State to cling to this season.
