The Three Looniest Fan Theories On Why Tim Tebow Was Cut

And so the public fascination with Tim Tebow continues. Despite the man's insistence on being an NFL footnote, many continue to make him the lead item, and that's OK I guess. It's not hurting anyone. But some of the stuff that I'm reading and hearing today are skirting the borders of credulity in ways previously reserved for dead Elvis.
Here are the top three fan theories that I've seen today on why Tebow was cut by the Eagles:
1. His religion.
Tim Tebow was cut for being a Christian by his head coach Chip Kelley who is a atheist. Sad.
Ah, the notorious @PFTCommenter. Assuming that he's serious, one has to ask: are we to believe that Chip Kelly was unaware of Tebow's commitment to religion when he brought him in?
2. Kelly Wanted To Steal Tebow's Essence.
On Eytan Shander's Philadelphia radio show, a man called in and said that Tebow was brought in to inspire people in the preseason, so that it would carry over and lift the Eagles over their opponents, all the way to the Super Bowl. So, kind of a Matt Foley, motivational speaker.
Tebow, says this commenter, was just a pawn in Kelly's game. By having the press focus on Tebow all preseason, no one would write about Kelly's game planning, thus allowing him to work on things more or less in private.
